The Oakfield Model 'B' soil probe has interchangeable parts that can be replaced when they wear out; 1 - 12" handle, 2 - 12" extension rods, 1 - 12" tube with replaceable screw tip, and 1 - 13" heavy fiberboard case. The working size is 36" long. It's made of multi-plated steel to resist abrasion and carefully machined to be adaptable in any combination of units. Used for measuring root depth and an aid in determining soil type.
